Post Office

This service is provided by the Sub-Post Master, Mr Roger Jacob, from the nearby village of Hinton Charterhouse. The mobile Post Office visits WELLOW VILLAGE HALL on Tuesdays between 2.00pm and 3.00pm each week. Basic provision is available such as facilities to cash State Benefits or purchase stamps, TV stamps and the like.

Refuse Collection

Refuse collection is carried out by Bath & North East Somerset Council and is normally made,( with effect from 4th October 2010), in Wellow on Monday each week. Further information on waste services available to you are obtainable by visiting The Waste Services Website or by E-mail to action_line@bathnes.gov.uk.

Household Waste and Recycling Centres are available for you to take your rubbish to directly as follows:

  1. Radstock Road, Midsomer Norton
  2. Midland Road, Bath
  3. Pixash lane, Keynsham

The Centre Opening times are: Weekdays - 8am to 4.15pm, Saturdays - 8am to 3.45pm, Sundays - 9am to 12.45pm. For further information Tel: 01225 394041

Recycling Collection

Recycling collection, by Bath & North East Somerset Council in conjunction with Avon Friends of the Earth is normally made in Wellow each Monday. Please make sure your green box is ready for collection by 7.00am on each Monday. The green box needs to be left at the front boundary of your property where it can easily be seen from the road. If you are elderly or disabled and require assistance to please ask your next door neighbour or contact your nearest recycling depot (Bath 01225 310845 or Temple Cloud 01761 452080), who will be pleased to arrange a regular assisted collection. If you do not have a green box in which to place your recyclable materials please contact the Action Line on 01225 394041.

Garden waste & Cardboard composting collection days - Wellow is Route B and is collected every other Monday.

To take part in this scheme you can either use one of our wheeled bins at a cost of £36 (to cover 3 years service), or buy paper sacks at 35p each (see list of stockists here) us to store your garden waste in. We will collect your garden waste once a fortnight throughout the year, from the front edge of your property if stored in one of these containers. Cardboard will be collected if stored mixed with the green waste in the paper sack or wheeled bin. Cardboard can also be collected free of charge on its own if stored flat in a cardboard box, or tied neatly in bundles with string.

Mobile Library

A mobile library service is provided by Bath & North East Somerset Council Library and Archive Service and visits Wellow fortnightly on Tuesdays, aiming to arrive a various location in Wellow as follows: Current Details available here
