St. Julian's Well

The quiet garden offers an opportunity for stillness and reflection

"Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest" (Mark 6:31)

THE GARDEN

ST JULIAN'S WELL is a small house sitting in a sheltered valley on the edge of the village of WELLOW, 3 miles south of BATH.

The garden has a rill running through it and is surrounded by an old canal bank and a stretch of woodland. It is away from the road.

We offer:

WELCOME

Everyone who would like a time of peace and reflection is welcome, of whatever faith or denomination.

CARERS

We especially welcome those who look after parents, wife or husband, partner, children, friends or neighbours, giving attention beyond that generally expected. We are happy to offer the peace and tranquillity of St Julian's to allow them some time for themselves.

OPENING

We are open on the first Thursday of each month from 2nd May to 3rd October, from 10.30 - 3.30pm.

The day centres on quiet and stillness with the help of a leader. This shared exploration can be very stimulating, expanding our awareness of the presence of God.

At around 12.30 we pause to eat and talk. Anyone staying for the day is asked to bring a packed lunch. Hot and cold drinks are provided. During the day we have a short time of reflection and prayer for people to join in or not as they wish. You are invited to come for the whole day or any part of it.. There is no charge for the day, but small donations are welcome to help defray expenses and to enable us to contribute towards the Quiet Garden Movement.

THE QUIET GARDEN MOVEMENT

"The primary vision of The Quiet Garden Trust is to initiate and resource a network of local opportunities for prayer, silence, reflection and the appreciation of beauty; for learning about Christian life and spirituality; and for experiencing creativity and healing in the context of God's love.

"Each Quiet Garden, while being affiliated to The Quiet Garden Trust, is encouraged to organise its own programme and to respond to local needs."
