Established in 1982 to provide translation services in this increasingly important language, Robert Irving is a graduate of thr Middle East Centre of Arab Studies, Lebanon, a Fellow of the Institute of Linguists and a member of the Institute of Translation & Interpreting.

He is the Arabic translator to the FCO (Foreign & Commonwealth Office), DTI (Department of Trade & Industry), MAFF (Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food) and the DOE (Department of the Environment). Translations are provided mainly to Government departments, major law firms and defence-related industries, but also to individuals (personal documents etc.).

• The Plants of Dhofar, (a Flora of South Arabia, 500pps, for the Diwan of the Royal Court, Sultanate of Oman)
