Minutes of the Annual General Meeting of the Parish
Council held on Monday 9th May 2011 at 7.30pm in the Village Hall.
Present:
Cllrs Andrews, Betts, Caudle, Clarkson, Dolman, Prentice, Wheeler, White and
Witty.
Six members
of the public were in attendance.
Agenda
1. Election of Chairman
The outgoing Chairman, Alex Martin, vacated his seat and Richard Holland, who had previously agreed to do so, took the chair for this item.
Cllr Betts suggested that Cllr Andrews be appointed in the first instance on a temporary basis so as to ensure continuity and to enable newly elected councillors a chance to gain some experience before a permanent Chairman was elected.
Cllr Caudle seconded the proposal. Cllr Andrews said that she would be happy to act as Chairman until September. This was approved unanimously and Richard Holland vacated the Chair to enable Cllr Andrews to take over the meeting.
The Chair suggested that everyone should introduce themselves.
2. Election of Vice-Chairman
Cllr Betts proposed that Cllr Prentice be appointed and this was seconded by Cllr Clarkson. Cllr Prentice agreed to accept the nomination and was elected unanimously.
3. Appointment of Sub-Committee and Subject
Leaders:
After some discussion the following arrangements were made.
a) Planning Cllrs Caudle and White
b) Finance Cllrs Andrews and Prentice and the Clerk
c) Burial Board Cllrs Andrews and Betts
d) Village Hall Committee Cllr Betts
e) St Julian’s Church School Cllr Wheeler
f) Rights of Way and Enforcement Cllrs Caudle and Dolman
g) Playground Cllrs Betts and Witty
h) Task Force Working Group Left open
i) Parish Plan Cllrs Clarkson and Prentice
It was pointed out that a copy of the Parish Plan is on the Wellow website.
5. Appointment of Responsible Financial Officer
It was unanimously agreed that the Clerk be re appointed as RFO.
6. Resolution on continued banking arrangements
It was unanimously agreed to continue banking arrangements with Nat West Bank
