Tower Master’s Report Brian reported that the original purpose of the Band was to ring for the Millennium, when Father Hugh had requested Brian to teach any new volunteer ringers. This he did, since when additional people have joined the Band some returnees and some new to St. Julian’s. Brian welcomed Janet who had joined since the last AGM. The Band is now in a very healthy state with nine ringers and three newly joined learners. Bells were rung for the Millennium and now ring regularly for Sunday Services at 11.15am. Bells are also rung for weddings. The Band has taken part in in a Diocesan Training Day which was very valuable and much enjoyed a Bellringing Tour of some 4 churches including Thorncombe, Stoke Abbott, Hawkchurch and Winsham

Brian thanked Gordon and Geoff for the enormous amount of work they had undertaken in the Belfry and for restoring the broken and neglected chiming mechanism which is now in working order. Happy Birthday was chimed out on Chirstmas Day which had given much pleasure in the Village.

There are two weddings booked for Saturday 17th March 1.00pm, and 2nd June 3.00pm.and for a Bellringing Tour on 12th May.

Richard thanked Brian for his patience, enthusiasm and good humour – the fact that the Band was in such a fine state was very largely due to him.
